Geographic area of work that Phoenix Fire Services covered.

Area 1
Starting from and including all suburbs and or towns inside the area of Cape Town, along the coast, up to and including Atlantis, then inland to Philadelphia, Durbanville, Kraaifontein, Bellville, Brackenfell, Kuilsriver, Faure, Mitchell's Plain to the coast and then southbound along the eastern coast to Muizenberg up to and including Simonstown and Cape Point, then to Kommetjie, Houtbay and along the coast back to Cape Town.

Area 2
Includes all towns along the coast from Somerset West, Strand, Kleinmond, Hermanus, Agulhas, and then inland to Bredarsdorp, Riviersonderend, McGregor, Robertson, Worcester, Paarl up to Stellenbosch.

Area 3
Including all towns from De Doorns, Touwsrivier, Laingsburg, to Riversdale, Albertinia, Stilbay, Cape Infanta, Malgas, Heidelberg, Swellendam, Barrydale, Suurbraak, Bonnievale, Ashton and Montague.

The volume of work for the Department of Public Works is in the region of 1.5 million per annum.

Same as before including all the towns starting from Herbertsdale to Mosselbay, Great Brak river, George, Wilderness, Sedgefield, Knysna, Plettenberg Bay, Uniondale, Herold Dysseldorp, De Rust, Oudtshoorn, Calitzdorp, Zoar, Ladysmith, Van Wyksdorp, and including Klaarsstroom, Prins Albert, Merweville, Leeu Gamke, Beaufort West, Nelspoort, Murraysberg and Umtata. Including all towns along the coast of Mamre, to Saldanha, Langebaan, Lamberts Bay and St. Helena Bay inland to Bitterfontein, Van Rhynsdorp, Klawer, Clanwilliam, Citrusdale, Portvale, Tulbagh, Prins Albert, Hamlet, Ceres and Wellington.
